Gibitre Instruments' compression molding dies are designed to prepare specimens in accordance with major international standards, ensuring repeatable, consistent and perfectly comparable samples for laboratory testing and quality control in production. Specimen quality is a key determinant of measurement reliability, which is why these molds are a reference choice for those working in materials characterization.
All molds are made of mold steel in-house at Gibitre's machine shop and are fully chrome plated, a finish that ensures greater wear resistance, long life and easier specimen removal, reducing the risk of damage and improving operational efficiency.
The molds are optimized for use with Gibitre's "Laboratory press - Drive" and can be used with the sliding guides mounted on the press platens, allowing precise positioning and easier handling during loading and unloading. The availability of different geometries and mold types makes it possible to meet different regulatory req

Various kinds of moulds are produced for the preparing of samples by compression moulding according to the international standards.
Moulds are made with steel for moulds and produced by Gibitre mechanical workshop.
Most models of mould are chrome plated to ensure long duration and easy extraction of the samples.

• All the mold models made by Gibitre can be applied to the press using clamping guides.
• The sliding guide on the lower platen allows you to move the mold effortlessly to facilitate the operations of inserting the product to be moulded and extracting the finished moulded part.
The molds for the preparation of plates are produced with the utmost care to ensure the maintenance of the required thickness and a perfect surface finish. For this purpose, the surface of the mold is ground and subsequently chromed.
Standard molds have a size of 200x200 mm and a thickness of 2, 4 or 6 mm.
Molds with dimensions and thicknesses different from the standard ones and with multiple thicknesses are produced.

Combined mold for the preparation of specimens for Compression set type A or B, specimens for drum abrasimeter, etc.
The intermediate section can be produced according to specific needs.
The intermediate section is anchored to the lower (sliding) part of the mold to prevent it from moving during the opening of the press and is removed at the end of the molding to facilitate the extraction of the specimens.

Moulds for hardness samples according to ISO 48-2 ISO 48-4 (and similar) standards.

Below are some examples of frequently requested molds.
Molds are produced according to the specific needs of the customer. Contact us for any need.

Mould for De Mattia dynamic tester according to ISO 132, ASTM D 430-method B, DIN 53 522 standards.

Tensile testing molds for thermoplastic materials according to ISO 527-1 / 2/3, 178, ASTM D 638, 790, 882, 3574, etc.
The molds are produced with the removable middle section for the easy extraction of the specimens

Gibitre collaborates with research institutes and universities and has developed specific applications for the study of production processes and of vulcanized and thermoplastic materials.
For this purpose, molds with special shapes and with sensors for measuring the temperature of the specimen were produced.
