Gibitre’s instrument delivers fast, accurate density measurement for rubber, rigid products, foams, plastic granules, rubber powders, liquids, and metal powders—one versatile tool among your laboratory and production measurement tools for materials control. Place the sample, couple the magnetic holder, press Start: the software reads mass, motorizes the beaker with the reference liquid, computes volume and density, then resets for the next test, minimizing downtime and operator influence.
For reliable, traceable results it integrates a high-precision balance (0.001 g, opt. 0.0001 g), a thermal sensor for automatic liquid-density correction, motorized lifting for repeatability, limit checks, statistics, and SQL data management via DensityCheck & Datagest.
Compliance: ISO 2781, ISO 1183-1*, ASTM D792 for rubber and plastics; ASTM D1056 and ASTM D3575 for foams. Automatic mass/volume change after aging supports ISO 1817 and ASTM D471. Dedicated fixtures secure every specimen; an option
The instrument allows to measure the density of compact products, expanded (non-absorbent) products, pellets and liquids through the hydrostatic method.

The calibrated temperature probe inside the beaker measures the temperature of the reference liquids.
The software corrects the density of the test liquids based on the temperature and uses the correct value for the measurements.
Each result is saved together with the temperature measurement and the real density of the comparison liquid.
Seasonal variations in density measurement with changing laboratory temperature are just a memory!



The software enables the complete automatic performance of the test, the comparison of the results with the tolerance limits set for the product and the storage of the results in standard Gibitre database with SQL format.
The software permits to store Mass and Volume results and to compare the results with the ones obtained using the same samples after aging test in order to calculate Mass and Volume Percentage variation (DM%, DV%)according to ISO 1817 or ASTM D 471 standards.
The reference liquid for volume calculation can be selected (default liquids are distilled water or ethyl alcohol). The density of the reference liquid is corrected according to the temperature of the lab entered in the program to ensure accurate volume calculation.
Statistics: X-chart, Gaussian Curve, Max, Min, Mean, Std. Dev, Cp and Cpk for the ongoing test or for a selection of stored results are automatically calculated.
The test report for the test performed or for a selection of stored results includes test identification, tolerance limits, statistic, company logo, digital signature of the user and a legend with the description of the results calculated.
The software is connected to the Gibitre Standard SQL database.

Aging tests on Rubber products are performed according to international standards (ISO 1817, ASTM D471, etc) to evaluate the capability of the product to perform correctly in use conditions.
The aim of this test is to measure the Mass and Volume Percentage variation after the aging of the samples and to compare the results with the expected tolerance limits.
The instrument performs this operation automatically
In order to measure the Mass and Volume variation of the samples, you need to:
● Prepare at least 3 samples
● Perform a test with the instrument on the samples before aging
● Age the samples at the requested aging conditions
● Select the identification of the tests originally made on the samples from the List of Tests with Pending Treatments
● Repeat the test on the samples
The software will do the rest:
● Calculates the Percentage Mass and Volume variation
● Compares the results with tolerance limits for the product and for the treatment selected
● Stores the results to the SQL Database



The Datagest program allows you to define specific tolerance limits for each Product, Customer, Test Procedure and Aging Treatment.
For each result to be calculated, tolerance limits and alarm limits can be defined.
The comparison between the results and the tolerance limits is carried out automatically at the end of each test: the test results are colored (Green, Yellow or Red) based on the outcome of the comparison with the limits.
The outcome of the check is saved in the database together with the results.


The test is carried out using a needle applied to a magnetic support.
• The needle is inserted into the specimen
• The magnetic support allows you to fix it to the scale.
Normally the reference liquids used are distilled water.


The test is carried out using a clamp support designed to minimize the formation of bubbles during immersion in the liquid.
• The piece to be measured is applied to the support
• The holder is mounted on the scale.
The reference liquids used can be distilled water or ethyl alcohol.

The test is carried out using a steel needle which avoids the upward displacement of the specimen during the immersion in the liquid with comparison.
• The steel needle is inserted into the specimen
• The magnetic holder is mounted on the scale.
The reference liquids used can be distilled water or ethyl alcohol.
The test can be performed if the product is not absorbent (closed cell expanded products)



The test is carried out using a micro-perforated filter that allows a significant quantity of product to be tested and guarantees that the product is correctly wetted by the test liquid.
• The pellets to be measured are inserted into the support
• The support is mounted on the scale.
• The entire measurement cycle is carried out automatically.
The reference liquid to be used is ethyl alcohol or isopropyl alcohol.
The software automatically corrects the density of the test liquid based on the temperature probe reading.
The time spent in the test liquid can be set.


The test allows the measurement of the rubber powder density, obtaining results consistent with the EN 17189 standard but with very fast test execution times.
A special micro-perforated filter is used for the test.
• The product to be measured is inserted into the support

The reference liquid to be used is ethyl alcohol or isopropyl alcohol.
The densimeter software allows you to set the immersion time of the support in the liquid to ensure extremely repeatable results.



The test is performed using a standard volume medium.
• The liquid to be measured is poured into a glass
• The volume of the support is memorized on first use through the automatic tare procedure.
• The holder is attached to the scale via the magnetic holder.
• Pressing start the measurement cycle is carried out automatically.




The results of all the tests carried out are saved in the Gibitre SQL database and are available through the Datagest program.
Datagest is the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) which is always installed in combination with all Gibitre instrument-control programs.
The program is the collector for all the test result produced with the instruments connected and permits to manage the common Archives used by the instruments (Product List, Customer List, Tolerance limits, Order List, etc)

One of the key characteristics to make an instrument functional is the simplicity in identifying the tests to be carried out.
The new Gibitre release 10 programs allow you to:
• Reduce the time for insertion
• Do not make identification errors
• Identify the correct test procedure for the product
• Have a complete traceability of the archived Results.


The instrument and the software have been specifically developed to optimize integration with other environments.
The database in SQL format and the Gibitre_Company_Connect program allows you synchronize your company management software with Gibitre database and to speed up the identification of the tests and to use bar-code readers or similar devices.

• Programs can be installed on standard PCs with WINDOWS 10 or 11 OPERATING SYSTEM.
• The CONNECTION between the instruments and the PC is made using the USB CABLE supplied with the instrument.
• The programs are COMPATIBLE WITH ANTIVIRUS, and other programs installed on the PC.

All the programs produced by Gibitre are multi-language and allow the operator to select the language of use.
The test report can be produced in the desired language regardless of the language of use of the program.
The languages available at the moment are: Italian, English, German, French, Portuguese, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Turkish, Polish, Czech.


The instrument is totally developed and produced in the plant of Gibitre Instruments in Italy.
All the mechanical parts are produced in the company workshop using modern CNC machines.
Components and sensors from well-known brands are selected in order to ensure the maximum reliability in the measures
Internal trained personnel takes care of all the production stages: assembly, start-up, calibration, packing, shipment and installation.
