Tensile tester combined with Electrical Resistivity tester
Measure of Electrical Resistivity under dynamic conditions.

Overview
The combination of Electronic Dynamometer and Digital Multimeter permits to measure how the behavior of conductive and semiconductive products changes when subjected to deformation cycles.

It is possible to subject the specimens to deformation in traction, compression or bending.

The measurements can be made at room temperature or in a climatic chamber (between -40 °C and +250 °C).

The multimeter allows you to measure electrical resistance between 10 Micro-Ohms and 120 Mega-Ohms.

Instrument Setup
Instrument configuration includes:
- Gibitre standard Tensile Tester
- High-Accuracy-Digital Multimeter
- Electrically insulated clamps to allow the measurement of the electrical resistance of the specimen during the applied deformation cycle.

The instrument can be equipped with a climatic chamber for carrying out tests at a controlled temperature.

The TensorCheck Software allows the complete and simultaneous control of the instrument, the multimeter and the Environmental Chamber and processes the Force, Displacement, Temperature and Resistivity signals.

Environmental chamber
Test Chamber for the performance of tests with controlled temperature (between -40°C and +250°C).
The environmental chamber can be manually displaced from the test area to the back of the instrument for testing with or without temperature control.
Differential extensometer to be installed inside the chamber is available.

Example: Resistivity in Flexion
Test conditions:
- Test in Flexion
- Applied cyclic deformation: 2 mm
- Deformation speed 10 mm / min
- Graphic representation: Ohm vs Seconds
- Frequency of saving curve points: 20 Hz.
- Temperature: room temperature

Example: Resistivity in Traction at +125°C
Test conditions:
- Traction test
- Applied cyclic deformation: 100 mm
- Deformation speed 100 mm / min
- Graphic representation: Ohm vs % Strain
- Frequency of saving curve points: 20 Hz.
- Temperature: +125 °C

Example: Resistivity in Compression at -40°C
Test conditions:
- Compression test
- Sample: Ø 29 mm, h 12.5 mm
- Applied cyclic deformation: 10 mm
- Deformation speed 20 mm/min
- Graphic representation: Ohm vs % Strain
- Frequency of saving curve points: 20 Hz.
- Temperature: -40 °C

Test Cycle
The TensorCheck software allows you to prepare test cycles that include the sequence of operations that the instrument must perform to apply the dynamic cycle intended for the test.
The test cycle includes operations of:
- force adjustment
- displacement adjustment
- temperature regulation (with climatic chamber installed)
- zeroing operations
- control of the production of the curves

Recursive loops can be defined for performing cyclic operations

Test Curves
• The curves relating to the tests carried out are shown in different colors to associate them immediately with the relative results.
• By selecting a result, the corresponding curve is automatically highlighted.
• The graphical functions integrated in the programs (scale settings, the number of divisions and zoom) allow you to analyze the curves in detail.
• All the curves are saved in the database together with the test results.

Numerical Results produced
The TensorCheck software allows you to define for each test method which results you want to calculate.
The specific results related to resistivity measurements are:
- Resistivity at set Force
- Resistivity at set Stress
- Resistivity to set Deformation

Management of Test Results
The results and test curves of all the tests carried out are saved in the Gibitre SQL database and are available through the Datagest program.

Datagest is the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) which is always installed in combination with all Gibitre instrument-control programs.
The program is the collector for all the test result produced with the instruments connected and permits to manage the common Archives used by the instruments (Product List, Customer List, Tolerance limits, Order List, etc)

Export of test Curves
It is possible to export the points of the test curves in a .csv file
For each test point, the file reports: Force, Effort, Deformation, Traverse Displacement, Time from Start, Electrical Resistance, Temperature.

Resistance measurement range
10 Micro-Ohm to 120 Mega-Ohm
